Is my bunny ok and healthy?

I was carrying my bunny up the stairs in a little wooden box type thing and then my bunny got all excited and tried to jup out. i tried to prevent it, but then he fell 5-6 stairs down (carpeted stairs) and then when he landed just sat there trembling A LOT. I immediately took him to his cage, and he laid down. I hope he doesn't have a broken spine! How can I tell if he is ok? I read that if they don't walk well within 30 min, then they can die within a week? My parents used to raise rabbits and say they are fine without vets, and this is my second pet in my life. I really don't want him to die! Are there any signs I should look for? He seems sleepy now
