you hit the answer when you said the boy was 10. when my kids were 10 they knew everything. in your case your son may not want you hurt. sit down with him and let him know you love your husband but it didn't lessen your love for him and it never will. my grandchildren live with us and my 10 y.o. grandson is very emotional at times because he knows his father was a bum and is in prison. he argues with me , not as much as his 11 y.o. sister but i try to make him smile during his temper outbursts a little later i'll just walk by him and kiss him on the top of his head to show him i love him. tell your husband to try that, it works.
