How come teens/preteens say they understand love/fell in love after dating for less than 10 months?

They probably say they are in love when they do something sexual or something because the guy "makes them feel loved." I don't know if preteens can really be in love or understand it, but teens can. Not all do. Some think they're in love or understand it when they really aren't and don't.
